Who is Counselling for?
There are many reasons for seeking counselling. You may be feeling upset and distressed or have problems with anxiety, stress, isolation or loneliness. You may have had a sudden crisis in your life, such as bereavement, loss of a job, or relationship problems. There may be behavioural problems, or abuse issues, and you may be struggling with your feelings and thoughts about this. You may feel that you lack direction and that life makes no sense, or you may just have a general unease about something in your life.
Counselling may expose old hurts and wounds that need to be worked through in order to find more successful ways of resolving difficulties in everyday life. This can be a painful process, and you may need someone to guide you through this. Counsellors do not have magic solutions; those changes which do occur will be the ones that you make for yourself, with the help of your counsellor.
