What are the Practicalities?
Where does the counselling take place?
Counselling needs to take place in a safe evironment, without interruption or distraction. I use a dedicated comfortable counselling room within my home in Dalton-in-Furness. This is on the first floor, but if there are mobility issues, we can use an alternative room on the ground floor.
I also offer on-line counselling using telephone and Skype. This can be easier to access if you are in a remote area, or just feel it will be more convenient for you for any reason.
What are my working hours?
I can be flexible and am able to offer appointments on weekdays during daytimes and early evenings. I aim to be flexible, and will work with you to agree something convenient for us both. Please contact me if you want to know more about this way of working.
What does it cost?
THE INITIAL MEETING IS FREE. This is a chance for us to discuss your need for counselling, and to help you decide what you want to get from this. The relationship between Client and the Counsellor is very important, you need to be able to feel comfortable with me, and know you can trust me, so this first contact between us is very important. By the end of this first session, you should have a clear idea of whether counselling with me is the right option for you at this time. This first session normally lasts between 30 and 45 minutes.
After this, my fees are £40 for a session of 50 minutes. Ongoing sessions will usually be held weekly, or fortnightly, though towards the end of our work we may agree to meet less frequently.
How can I get in touch?
You can either telephone or email me. If you telephone you are likely to get my answerphone. Please leave a message stating when is a good time for me to ring you back then I will reply to you as soon as I can. We can then arrange your FREE INITIAL CONSULTATION, to find out more about each other and explore how best to approach your difficulties.
